Part one
Gary
Well, for those of you who have been wondering what I've been doing with all of my free time, why I haven't had time to comment on my posts, etc, here it is. Today starts part one of twenty of a Halloween comic that's been eating up most of my free time. As you can probably tell, it's higher quality than what I normally post. Now, before I'm asked the question, no, I won't be maintaining this level of quality once this comic is done. Unfortunately, my day job eats into my comic time. If I was doing the comic professionally, I'd like to think this is the quality of comic I would produce, or better. So far, this comic isn't done. It's mostly written, mostly sketched, largely inked, and partially colored. Hopefully I can maintain this quality for the remaining parts of this story line. Hopefully all of you enjoy this story, and enjoy the Halloween spirit. It is, after all, my favorite holiday.

So, a little more about the comic. I wrote this comic last month and had a few friends look it over and give me feedback. I then rough sketched the comic (mostly just general characters and perspective). The next step was supposed to be a second sketch where I added detail and fixed proportions, but I ran out of time, so I started inking. Each inked version has taken me about the same about of time as it normally takes me to do a whole comic. This is because I'm trying to make this comic as good as I can. I even took some vacation days to work on it, so I would have more than just evenings and weekends. After the inking, there's the coloring. This is taking me a long time to do, hopefully I'll be able to stay ahead of the posts. After they're colored, I add the text and text balloons. Finally, I resize them and post them. I really like how they're turning out, and hope the rest of you do too. I'll try and posts with the comics, but that's an "if I have time" kind of thing.
