The true raid Gary
Ok, this isn't really how things went down. I recently joined a guild on DC Universe (back before Sony took it down to repair their servers). This allowed me to start doing some of the level 30 content, because it's difficult to gather enough people to do the level 30 content otherwise. So, I went on my first raid. It went really well. We largely walked through it without much trouble, so this left me feeling like we could conquer anything. Someone in the group suggested that we start another raid, since this we had the group together already, and it was a late evening. Still high on our success, we all agreed. One of the members warned us that this raid was much harder and we probably wouldn't complete it. My mind heard him, but refused to listen. I was sure we could take on the world. So, we get in there and get to a boss, and in under 30 seconds we were all dead. We tried a few more times, maybe five or six more times, before I had to leave and get some dinner (it was 10 or 11 pm and I hadn't eaten yet). In those other tries, we did get a little further, and last a little longer, but we didn't beat it. I ask someone who had stayed on in the group when I logged off, and was told that they didn't win. We'll get Brainiac next time.
For those who play DC Universe Online, I suggest you follow their facebook page. They're updating it daily with statuses and letting the community know what they'll get for the down time. Personally I don't need free stuff, I just want the servers to come back online.
