All mixed up
Gary
Ok, even though this comic is extremely late (I'm posting this at 7:43 am on Tuesday), I'm still going to post it as if I had it done on Monday. Sorry I'm posting this one late everyone. I started working on coding my first android widget, and I last track of time. I did get a basic version working today though, so that's good. I'm not used to needing a half dozen configuration files to write a basic program, oh well. (I'm exaggerating a bit here, I needed a manifest file, a layout file, a layout definition file so I could use a layout file that wasn't called "main", and then the java file) After I get five or six of these widgets made by hand (no IDE), I'll understand all the files and the file structure way better, and I'll probably be able to build them from scratch without having to look up references and waste a lot of time. Widget number one took me two days and probably close to thirty hours, which is kind of depressing, but most of the issues I've run into are the extra files, or understanding how to debug the apps, or android specific things, so I guess it's all just part of the learning curve. I'll work on it more tomorrow.

I've also recently learned a very important life lesson recently. That lesson is, "I should never take a vacation by myself". It seems I start working on projects, lose all sense of time, and eat randomly (an normally less than healthy food). So far, in the past three days, I've gone through almost a full cookie can of home made cookies, and two bags of microwave popcorn. Also, my sleep schedule has become chaotic at best. Right now is a good example, it's 7:53 am, and I'm thinking about going to sleep, and I'll probably get up before noon today to start working on stuff again. If I didn't have these projects, I'd probably be doing something similar, but with a video game. It's kind of scary. Luckily, my job has never decided to lock me away from the world to work on a project. I'm guessing the outcome would be rather similar. On the bright side, I'd probably accomplish the task, it just wouldn't be all that healthy for me.

Third topic before I go to sleep, the art on the comic. I'm kind of starting to enjoy the new line structure. I really like panel four of this comic. I'm not, however, enjoying how long it takes to do this new line structure, so we'll see. I'm still undecided as to whether or not I'll continue with this style.

Hmmm... perhaps I get more chatty in these posts when I'm vacationing by myself, or maybe I get more chatty when it's really late, or when I don't have much sleep, or maybe this is just a fluke. I should really stop typing now.
