The Avengers movie was a lot of fun, and as I said on Monday, all of my complaints were pretty minor, but here's the short list.
The whole jerking action Hawkeye used to expand his bow just looked strange to me, and was out of character for someone that moved smoothly the rest of the time.
Caps's outfit. All I can say is.. what were they thinking? It's almost bearable without the helmet, but with it? They either should've kept the one from the previous movie, or just went more military. Here, check out what I mean: Link1Link2Link3Link4
And, lastly, the complaint that kicked off this comic, is, they had Cap kill again. This is something that's completely against his character, even though he's a soldier. And he did it with no remorse.
This comic started out as an IM conversation with a friend, it went like this:
My friend: Who the hell did Cap kill?
Me: threw one of the people off the helicarrier
Me: right before he picked up the machine gun and started shooting at people
My friend: I'm sure they landed just fine...
Me: no parachute
My friend: maybe there was a portal...
Me: ...
Me: just annoying since it adds nothing to the story, and is completely out of character
Me: kind of like having batman push an orphan into a vat of acid, nonchalantly as he's walking back to the batmobile
My friend: That would be great!
My friend: "Whyyyyyyyyyyyy?!?!" "Because... I'm BATMAN."
Then, as I was doing the comic, it struck me, that if DC continues down this "let's keep making him more psychotic and dark" path with Batman, then we may very well see this in an upcoming movie. Batman in a bad mood, because they overcooked Bruce Wayne's filet mignon, walks towards the batmobile, see's a kid and pushes him off a building. So this comic is about comic book companies and movie companies going too far and destroying the morals that they spent years building in their characters. Oh well. Avengers was a good movie though, and I thought they did a good job with the 3d too. It didn't drive the story forward, but it did enhance the visuals for me.
Lastly, the trophy for the Age of Chivalry grand prize winner arrived, below is a pic of it. All I'm still waiting on is the gift card. Let me know what you think about the trophy, I'm thinking of doing similar for the Halloween contests.
