My bad Gary
Sadly, today's comic is about me. I was working on another in a long string of emergencies last Friday, and I was working with another dev. I'm used to being the one being yelled at to get things done, but this time I was the one yelling "just release it already", though not as nicely as that. I was exhausted, but that's not a good excuse. As a developer, it's always important to remember to do things right, or else you'll end up fixing them again later, but sadly, I wasn't remembering that. Instead, I was yelling to get it out, because I wanted it to be over with. I didn't want to work any later on it, it wasn't really feeling the importance of the fix, and I really just wanted my weekend, and my coworkers' weekends to begin. The developer stood his ground, as he should have, and the proper fix got out, or as proper a fix as is possible in an emergency situation. Now, I've done a comic about it, so I remember this is the wrong thing, so we can all hopefully laugh at how wrong it is, and so others think twice before trying to push out faster instead of better. Hopefully I'll never be that person again, but only time will tell.
Friday comic will be late Gary
Due to 4th of July laziness, Friday's comic will be posted late, hopefully during my lunch break.
