Big Bada BOOM!
I'd like to thank you guys for continuing to stick in there with me. Last week and the week before were a bit rough. I hope you all enjoyed the guest comics. It was cool to have some friends whip up some comics for the site. So everyone's on the same page, half of last week and all of the week before, I was in Virginia. My fiance's father was put into home hospice and then he died. We rushed out there as soon as we heard about the hospice, so she got to see him for a few days before he died. During that time, he was pretty out of it. He had no tolerance for pain killers, so they hit him hard. On the bright side, I think he was very comfortable his last few days, not that he'd let us know if he wasn't. This man was in a plane, taking his instrumentation certification test, on a broken hip, the day before he went into hospice. To say he was a strong man would be an understatement. So yeah, it was a tough week and a half for me. Just a lot to help out with and help get done. It was obviously harder for my fiance and her family. This week I'm at an Aikido summer camp, so all of these posts are being made on Sunday. If I have stuff to talk about relating to the camp, I'll do that next week.

So, this comic came out of my last day there, the day I flew back actually. They had an elephant gun, and a small range, so a few hours before I flew out, they took me to the range and let me fire what I think was a M1 Garand, and an elephant gun. The day before, I shot a few rounds from a .22 rifle, but before that I had never shot a rifle. With the M1, I hit a target at about 100 yards a few times out of 14 shots. With the elephant gun, I came close, but I never hit the target. It was definitely interesting, and at some point I'll probably do it again. For those who want to see me fire the elephant gun, here's a video of my first shot with it.

Truthfully, I didn't feel the impact I saw there. When I was firing it, I didn't think the impact made it to my legs. As you can see from the video, it most definitely did. I got to shoot that five times before it was time to eat and leave.

RIP rm-r-comic
