Arc end
And so ends this story arc. Next week, something other than jokes about our little friends... probably.

Ok, so, I didn't finish typing up my notes, or go through the pics from Denver Comic Con. I'll try and do that this week. This weekend was spent at a seminar, and doing some prep for Chicago Comic Con. One of the things I plan to offer, are original sketches, and commissions. I'm still trying to figure out how to do these, since I'm now completely used to drawing on a computer. My current thought is, do the sketch on my laptop, use a mini projector to project the sketch onto paper, and then draw it on the paper. If I go this this approach, then the person buying the sketch will get the physical drawing, and a password protected url for a jpg and xcf version of the original sketch. The image below is my first attempt at doing a sketch in this fashion.

My current thought on pricing is (this could change before the convention):
  • B&W sketch of one of my characters, if you know the name of the character you want, $0. Just a little thanks for reading the comic.
  • B&W sketch of one of my characters, if you don't know the character's name, $5.
  • One of the sketches I've brought with me (like the one above), $20.
  • A commissioned piece of a character that's not mine, $30 (because I'm not used to drawing them, and I might have to do research into what they look like).

For readers of the comic, if you want me to do a commissioned drawing of a specific character that isn't mine, you can email me your request before August, and you'll get the $20 price.

I'll also have three limited edition prints for sale, and perhaps more (in the process of seeing if I can get something else ready in time, if I can, I'll let everyone know). I won't have last years Halloween comic colored and printed, like I was hoping to, sorry about that.

Today's comic also marks the first comic where I'm really trying to modify the style to take into account some suggestions I got from Steve Lieber, I'm still no where near his talent, but I think his kind suggestions add a lot to the comic.

RIP rm-r-comic
